In just six months and for the third time, the club is looking for a new caterer!
With winter almost upon us we will be entering the quietest period of the year for most businesses on the coast but especially for a hospitality based business. This is more than unfortunate.

If the Board acknowledges the staffing issues with the current caterers (The Lady and The Fox) then it’s very unfortunate the same wasn’t acknowledged for the original 19th Hole Bistro operator when at the time, coming out of COVID left many eateries vulnerable to staff problems, procurement issues etc etc but rather than work through the problem we simply sacked the caterer.

I wrote at the time that the Club Bistro would be a ‘revolving door’ of operators as is now the case.
I have heard rumours also ( I will stand corrected if anyone on the Board is willing to respond ) that the last two caterers entered in to a commercial agreement with the club that would see the club earn circa $35,000 pa less than with the 19th Hole Bistro operator not to mention the loss of bar revenue since the revolving door started spinning!
This situation could become desperate and may well lead to the club’s reputation and finances both suffering long term.

The question now beckons, are, and have these decisions been made without the proper due diligence and by people without the appropriate and necessary skill sets?
